When working on our various sites, we move each page toward W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) compliance. This means using CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) instead of plain HTML whenever possible (avoiding <font> tags for example). It's a large task, so our sites are not W3C compliant yet, but this is done one section at a time when working on part of any site and the ultimate goal should be site-wide W3C compliance.

The most important part of maintaining our sites is keeping in mind the scope of the templates in which we work. Not only the visual layout, but the variables that control site behavior are in a long sequence of include() files for mardigrasday.com and accessfloorsystems and are incorported in an Object Oriented framework (phpLib) for the Intranet. These are two very different styles of frameworks and to maintain the sites it is critical to understand both.

Keeping our sites updated also requires an understanding of virtual hosts on Linux systems. All of our sites are hosted on the same machine and the filesystem can confusing if you are not able to follow symbolic links and read virtual host settings in our host's control panel (or prefereably in apache config files).

If you are interested in this position, please call 828-251-1939 to get more information on how to apply.
